Oak Beam Cottage is situated on a family run farm once owned by the Bishop of Durham. This quaint cottage dates from the seventeenth century on the site of the battle of Neville's Cross. It has an elevated position overlooking the surrounding countryside, only one and a half miles from Durham City and within easy reach of Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and the Durham Dales.

 
The cottage which has a small patio garden with seating area and has recently been fully renovated to a high standard of comfort and elegance incorporating many of its original features, which include its oaked beam ceilings and open plan staircase giving it its charm.
On the ground floor, there is a spacious sitting/dining room which benefits from a television, CD player and DVD player as well as the sofa bed.

The stair case leads to a double bedroom with pine furniture and an en suite bathroom

The hallway leads into a fully fitted country style kitchen with washer, tumble dryer, double fan oven, grill, separate microwave and hob.

 

Durham City is just a short walk away with its beautiful cathedral and castle resting on the banks of the River Wear

There is ample parking space. Sorry we are unable accept pets

A 1/3 deposit is required on booking with full payment one week before arrival, with cheques made payable to 'Wilson Hunter'.

The price is inclusive of bed linen, towels, drying facilities and central heating with separate electricity coin meter.
